Mosaic is often used for wall decoration in bathrooms. It allows you to create a unique design and gives great spaciousness for imagination. The surface on which the mosaic will be glued should be absolutely flat, since any defects will contribute to low -quality laying of tiles.
First of all, the marking of the facing surface is made and the pattern is selected. Then the wall is covered with a special glue mass of white color with water -repellent properties. When facing walls in the bathroom to this mass, it is recommended to add latex, which will give glue strength. Here you can use a quartz agglomerate, which is an artificial stone for decorating various kinds of surfaces.
For work, a gear spatula is required, whose cloves are 3-5 mm. First, the glue is applied to the wall with the flat side of the spatula, and then leveled by the gear. This styling technology will not allow excess glue to protrude from the seams.
Mosaic sheets are carefully pressed against the wall. The side of the mosaic that is covered with paper should be facing the master. So that the fragment sticks more tightly, glued sheets are neatly tapped with a rubber spatula. A metal spatula for these purposes should not be used. No more than 9 sheets of mosaics should be laid at a time.
Protective paper from the surface of mosaic tiles can be easily removed with a sponge moistened in water. Since the glue at this stage has not yet dried up and the mosaic is weak, it is necessary to act very carefully.
1-2 days after laying the mosaic proceed to grout of the seams. The glue should completely dry by this time, and the mosaic be cleaned of the remains of paper. Grout is applied using a rubber spatula with vertical and horizontal movements. Its excess can be removed by moving the spatula in the diagonal direction. After all the end of all work, the excess grouting mixture is carefully removed with a damp sponge from the mosaic surface.
