To create the support of the long sides of drywall sheets, intermediate spacers are nailed along the entire perimeter of the ceiling surface, which are attached to the walls of nails clogged into patches. The spacers also serve to strengthen the ceiling, but are not mandatory if it is planned to plaster drywall sheets in the future.
The thickness of the spacers should be about 5 cm.
The ceiling finish with drywall, that is, its installation, begins from the corner. Since the drywall sheet has a fairly large mass, two people will need to strengthen it. If one person has to work, it is recommended to use T – figurative supports or supporting bars, which, due to their design, are able to hold the drywall sheets during their fastening. Such supports are called among professionals in the decoration of the ceilings – “dead”. The length of the pair of subpoors should be slightly larger than the height of the room in which the ceiling is finished. It is recommended to use a beam with a section of 5×5 cm.
In the process of finishing the ceiling with drywall, that is, when installing it, it is recommended to use galvanized nails, which are nailed evenly with an interval of 15 cm from the center to the edges of the surface. It is thanks to this that it is possible to avoid sagging sheets in the middle, which is a distinctive feature of when the direction of nailing of nails begins from the edge and ends in the center of the surface.
