Marine style house: characteristic features and important differences

The characteristic colors of the style are blue, light blue and white. At the same time, they can be diluted with other shades as an accent. Taking into account preferences and tastes, interiors can be calm and bright.

A universal solution is a sea green finish. This allows you to create a direct association with the sea coast.

The interior of a private house can be complemented by finishing the facade. Architectural features of buildings in a marine style:

  • low roof with attic;
  • open verandas and terraces;
  • balconies with columns;
  • clear geometry.

Windows can be classic or round with imitation portholes. Frames can be painted blue or white.

The walls of the house are often decorated with shells or natural wood. It is customary to use plaster to decorate walls. The plinths are decorated with stone and pebbles.

If this is a two-story building, then the walls can be plastered only from below, and the top can be covered with natural wood. It is acceptable to use siding that imitates shipboard.

Since the interior of the marine style implies laconicism, relief ornaments, mosaics and other three-dimensional elements may be inappropriate.

To complete the exterior, you can add lifebuoys and ship ropes on the facades. Stair railings can be decorated with large fishing nets.
